The type of change you make to an existing degree program determines the proposal workflow.

    • Offer an existing academic program face to face at a different physical campus (extend Corvallis program to Cascades or vice versa).
  1. Submit an Early Alert in CIM Miscellaneous
  2. Submit the New Location MOU in CIM Miscellaneous (MOU preview)
  3. Submit program proposal to "Add a new location" in CIM Programs
  • Offer an existing academic program in hybrid format at a different physical campus. This applies to hybrid programs with 51% or more face-to-face instruction delivery in a location more than 40 miles from the site it is currently offered.
    • Fully online programs offered via Ecampus and satellite locations (e.g., Portland facility) that offer hybrid courses are excluded.

This is not a comprehensive list of changes.  CIM will track the changes you make in your proposal and will submit your proposal to the proper workflow.  If you make several changes in your proposal, the change that requires the highest level of approval will determine the workflow.

To help you track when your proposal may be reviewed, consult the meeting dates for the OSU Faculty Senate, OSU Board of Trustees, Statewide Provosts Council, and Higher Education Coordinating Commission.

  • Early Alert form: submit this form before you begin filling out the program proposal.
  • A proposal in CIM
  • Liaisons:
    • At least three
      • A minimum of two Academic Liaisons must be from outside the college associated with the Originating Academic Unit.

      • The remaining liaisons can be from within the college but must be outside the Originating Academic Unit.

  • External letter of support: at least one letter of support from contacts external to OSU.

Approval Deadline

  • Program change proposals must be approved by May 1 for the changes to take effect the following catalog year. See the catalog year policy for details.
